A good man is gone. R.I.P. Utah Phillips

Utah Phillips was an amazing story teller and folk musician that made me think a little deeper about the ailments of society and life. There is a good bio/obituary in the LA times if you want to get to know him a little more. I highly recommend the album of his spoken word that Ani Difranco put together called “The Past Didn’t Go Anywhere” as a starting point.

I was hoping I could see him one more time before he left this existence. He put on an amazing show and could make me laugh and cry, sometimes in the same minute. Again I highly recommend listening to what this Santa Claus looking guy had to say. He had an amazing perspective on living that anyone could learn something from.
